2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Electric is the way forward and many automotive brands including Ford have realized that. As a result, Ford has made a special inclusion to its line-up. The unique new vehicle is a Ford Mustang, but this time instead of a sedan we are going to get a crossover SUV and that too with electric motors. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is kind of a revelation for the American automotive brand. The vehicle not only stands as a contender on the all-electric vehicle market but it satisfies the market hunger for crossover SUVs.

Ford has gone all-out with the Mach-E as they hope to compete against the likes of Tesla in the electric vehicle category. What makes the electric Mustang so special?

Looks That Could Kill

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E looks surprisingly simple yet futuristic. The curvy front fascia and the absence of a prominent front grille make the SUV look odd yet different. And when it comes to cars different is often good. The rear-end gets a hatchback-style sloping roof with signature Ford Mustang style taillights.

Performance Dynamics

The Mach-E Mustang has two battery pack options. You can either go for the 75.7 kWh standard battery model or choose the 98.9 kWh extended range battery. Either way, you get a powerful electric vehicle that is second to none. Ford offers rear-wheel drive with a single motor and an all-wheel-drive with dual motors. The lower-end vehicle makes around 255 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque while the high-end variant purges out 459 hp with 612 lb-ft of torque. The top Mach-E can accelerate from a stop to sixty in around 4 seconds.

Battery Range/Economy

The first thing anyone asks when it comes to electric vehicles is the battery range. Ford, knowing the importance of battery range gave their first-ever electric crossover a respectable battery range. According to EPA estimates the 75.7 kWh battery gives a decent 210-mile range while the range-extending large battery pack 98.9 KWh manages 300 miles of range. Fortunately, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E has quick charge capability that allows you to recharge your vehicle pretty quickly.

Interior Cabin

The Ford Mach-E has a lot of space in its cabin as well as in its boot. This is largely thanks to the battery being placed in the undercarriage. So, you and your passengers can ride comfortably and even accommodate some cargo with ease. The front dash has a digital dash with a tablet-like infotainment system in the center. There are very minimal knobs and buttons which means that voice-activation plays an important role in the Mach-E.

Price Range

The base variant is priced at $44,995 with every successive variant adding a few thousand dollars to the till. The range-topping GT model goes for a whopping $61,600.

The Mach-E is a competitive vehicle but will it be able to stand head-to-head against the likes of Tesla’s SUVs? We will know soon enough!
